Students will be required to show their ID card to enter the University of Athens

With the new measures, Theodoros Fortsakis aims at ensuring the smooth operation of the University.

The newly elected Rector of the University of Athens, Law professor Theodoros Fortsakis, whose inauguration took place yesterday, announced that it will be required of students to present their identity card in order to enter certain areas at the University of Athens.

With these measures, Theodoros Fortsakis aims at ensuring the smooth operation of the University.

“I won’t call the police but I will take all necessary measures to ensure the smooth operation of the university,” said the new Rector who is planning to implement a controlled entry system in several schools and buildings of the university.

“The system will be implemented gradually over time, especially in those places where problems often occur. The target is not the students, not even those with the most extreme behaviors, but drug trafficking, destruction of public property, thefts and robberies that occur even within the campus,” explained Mr. Fortsakis.
