Suddeutsche Zeitung: No, Greece will not get 2 bln euros by the end of the week!

An unnamed EU official said delays in Greek reforms are causing hitches to the disbursement of funds benchmarked for Greece!

German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung on Tuesday pointed to the refusal of Greece’s creditors (European Commission, European Central Bank, International Monetary Fund, European Stability Mechanism) to proceed towards the installment of a 2-billion-euro tranche benchmarked for Greece.

An EU official told the newspaper that the installment will not be given to Greece by the end of the week but during November. The unnamed source states that there will be a delay in the first two installments for Greece worth two billion and three billion euros respectively.

The delay is due to the Greek government’s slow response to the implementation of prior actions required before the money is disbursed. At the moment only 14 of the 48 actions have been completed.
