SYRIZA coalition partner AN.EL calls for resignation of Parliament speaker Konstantopoulou

The deal is a compromise says Chrysoveloni

Pressure on Greek Parliament Speaker Zoe Konstantopoulou is mounting after right wing party AN.EL spokesperson Marina Chrysoveloni called on her to resign from her post. Speaking to Greek radio station Real fm, Chrysoveloni said Konstantopoulou should facilitate matters and step down as speaker of parliament, while commenting on the agreement she explained it was a compromise. She made it clear that if the deal does not pass through the Greek parliament the country and its people will be led to greater danger. It should be reminded that Konstantopoulou has been the subject of a Facebook campaign by nearly 30,000 ordinary citizens asking for a no-confidence against her, while an increasing number of her fellow colleagues in SYRIZA are also questioning her ability to exercise her duties.
