SYRIZA praises TAP project that it used to condemn

Tsipras will attend and address a ceremony inaugurating the construction of the TAP

In 2013 SYRIZA, which was an opposition party, was accusing the then government for lack of energy planning on the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) arguing that a project like that enhances the demands of multinational companies and creates more unfavorable conditions for the country’s exit from the crisis.

But, now SYRIZA not only supports TAP project, but it also celebrates the launch of the works, while SYRIZA leader and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will attend and address a ceremony inaugurating the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), along with Energy Minister Panos Skourletis on Tuesday at Thessaloniki.

Tsipras has praised the TAP project, while Minister of Economy said that the construction of the pipeline will offer around 8,000 new jobs in the next three years, will pave the way for energy supply in selected areas and will attract additional investments in the energy sector.
