SYRIZA spokeswoman threatens MEGA with action for refusing her air time

The SYRIZA spokeswoman states that the channel did not allow her to present the government’s opinion

Government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili was critical of private TV channel MEGA on Tuesday after it refused to give her air time. She had been rejected the right to comment on a report regarding allegations made by former civil protection minister Giannis Panousis.

In a front-page interview with Proto Thema on the weekend, Panousis had claimed that some politicians have links with terror organizations and had gone so far as to threaten his life when he was still minister.

Gerovasili states that during MEGA’s reportage, there were alleged dialogues presented as facts that had been provided by Panousis, according to the channel. MEGA refused the spokeswoman the right to present the government’s opinion, and had rejected her request for air time with the provocative statement: “Why should we put you in the news program – to make a speech?”. She said that the TV channel will be brought to justice for this incident.
