Greece unveils national AI Act framework: what changes for citizens, businesses and government

Greece's parliamentary committee has now begun debating the national bill implementing the European Union's AI Act, as Digital Governance Minister Dimitris Papastergiou stresses balancing citizen protection with innovation across healthcare, employment, and public administration services

Papastergiou on Violanta: “My last signature on the permit was in 2011 — I was shocked by the owner’s ‘direct hit’”

He said the signed permit was for part of a building that had been constructed in two phases

Gov.gr upgraded: Seamless, personalized digital services for all citizens

The aim of the new Gov.gr is the transition from a large list of services to a single, personalized point of contact between the citizen and the state - "The citizen will interact with the state in a unified and personalized way" says Dimitris Papastergiou

Papastergiou on road cameras: “At the moment you commit a violation, you’ll receive a message that you’re being checked, and a few hours later it will appear in your wallet”

The new camera types use approved AI algorithms, and the photo blurs everything around the driver so there is no doubt about who was driving
