Russia unveiled its ‘answer’ to the LTGB movement’s famous rainbow flag. According to Moscow Times the United Russia party, which is in power in the country, presented the traditional heterosexual flag that extolls the traditional values of a heterosexual family. This came, according to the report in response to the ruling by the US Supreme Court on June 28, which legalized same-sex marriage.

The flag is emblazoned with the figures of a father, a mother and three children by a hash-tag reading ‘A Real Family’. Deputy head of the Russia Today party branch in Moscow told Izvestia newspaper: “This is or response to same-sex marriage, to this mockery of the concept of family. We have to warn against gay-fever at home and support traditional values in the country”.

Vladimir Putin’s Russia has come under harsh criticism by the international community for his views on the issue on pro-homosexual propaganda. His government had passed a law forbidding the propagation of pro-homosexual lifestyle in the public life in June 2013.
