The Greek Orthodox church of Agios Porphyrios in Gaza was bombed

The number of people inside the church was about 50, the majority of whom were children and women

The interior ministry in Gaza announced the collapse of the building of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Porphyrios in the central city as “a result of Israeli raids”.

According to ERT, the number of people inside the Church was 50, the majority of whom are children and women.

“They hit the offices and the entrance of the monastery. They bombarded them with a rocket and the whole building collapsed. It had many Christians inside, many of whom have been injured and we also have dead people,” Archbishop Alexios of Tiberias, who is in the Greek Orthodox church that was bombed in Gaza, told ERT.

“They have to bring bulldozers so we can see how many people were crushed,” he said, adding that there are more than 40 people in the monastery.
