The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest judicial authority of the UN, has ordered the cessation of the attack and all actions by Israel in Rafah, Gaza, as this constitutes a direct threat to the residents of Palestine.

Furthermore, the International Court of Justice mandates Israel to present its progress within a month regarding the measures imposed on it to halt the aggressive actions.

Last week, South Africa requested from the Hague Court to order a cessation of Israel’s attack in Gaza, particularly in Rafah, to ensure the survival of the Palestinian people.

This request for urgent measures is part of a broader case brought before the Court by South Africa, accusing Israel of genocide.

Israel rejects South Africa’s allegations of violating the 1948 Genocide Convention, stating they are a mockery of the crime of genocide.

South Africa additionally requested urgent measures to protect Rafah, where more than a million Palestinians have sought refuge from other areas of the Palestinian enclave. It has also asked the panel of 15 permanent judges to order Israel to allow unhindered access to Gaza for UN officials, humanitarian organizations, journalists, and researchers.

It is reminded that on Monday, the International Criminal Court announced that it has issued arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister, as well as against Hamas leaders.

Netanyahu and Gantz were charged with crimes such as extermination and attack against civilians. However, Israel dismissed the charges.
