Guitarist Gus G (aka Kostas Karamitroudis) from Thessaloniki Greece, who excels at the international Metal music scene received an award in his honor by the Mayor of Thessaloniki Mr. Yianni Boutari, on the occasion of the artist’s participation in tonight’s concert KETHEA in the port of Thessaloniki, under the auspices of the municipality, for the World Day Against Drugs.

He is the only Greek musician who has managed to become the main guitarist of Ozzy Osbourne. Gus G stated: “It is a huge honor for me and today I feel that is a great responsibility to support the struggle of Kethea at such a critical time. ”

From his part, Mayor Mr. Yiannis Boutaris said: “It is a great pleasure to see children of Thessaloniki succeeding on culture and music in particular, as Costas, who has not only incorporated into the international scene, but excelled. From our perspective, as a municipality, we try to utilize all means available, to strengthen children who have distinguished talent, recognizing the struggle of everyone. ”

On the occasion of today’s awarding the Mayor once again referred to the importance of the international music exhibition “WOMEX” held in Thessaloniki in October 2012 and the efforts being made to repeat the event in the city.
