Top Erdogan adviser: We will reach Thessaloniki if the West continues to ‘attack’ our currency

The economic adviser invoked a 1920 Pact

Newsroom December 21 03:28

An economic adviser to the Turkish president threatened to take military action against the western powers and reach Thessaloniki if they continued targetting the Turkish ira.
“If the global imperial structure continues to attack the great Turkish nation in every area in this way, the great Turkish nation will return to its National Pact” journalist and adviser to President Tayyip Erdogan Yigit Bulut commented provocatively on Twitter, threatening western countries with war if the “attacks” against the Turkish Lira would not stop.

The “National Pact” or “National Treaty” (Misak-ı Millî) was adopted unanimously by the members of the Turkish National Assembly on 28/1/1920 and was essentially the conditions they set in order to sign a Peace Treaty with the Entente Powers, which had defeated the Ottoman and German forces in World War I.

According to the National Pact, which consisted of 6 articles, the borders of Turkey should be restored to the point that extended on 17/10/1918 during the signing of the Treaty of Moudros, between the Ottoman Empire on the one hand and the Entente Powers on the other.

The map of the “National Oath” included the islands of the northern Aegean and the Dodecanese, western Thrace and Macedonia up to Thessaloniki, Cyprus, Antioch, Aleppo, Jarablus, Der al Zor, Mosul, Kirkuk, and Sulaymaniyah.

Gigit Bulut is one of the top advisers to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a member of the Presidential Economic Policy Council.

The well-known exiled Turkish intellectual Mehmet Efe Çaman, who lives and works in Canada, commented critically on Bulut’s sad statements.

Erdogan’s chief adviser Mr. Bulut threatens the world with expansion regarding the continuing devaluation of Lira: “If the global imperial structure continues to attack the great Turkish nation in every area in this way, the great Turkish nation will return to its National Pact”.
