Andros takes the first place in the list of recommended islands for holidays with thematic experiences and without crowds in Greece, according to a survey by Greece-moments.com, the largest German travel website that focuses exclusively on Greek destinations and the preferences and searches of German travelers.
According to the feature, “Andros is a hospitable place, very picturesque and with great diversity. The island’s capital, Chora, is one of the most beautiful in the Cyclades.
The white houses with their red roofs shine impressively on a rocky spiral that plunges into the sea. Architecturally unique in Greece, Andros emerges like a fairy tale from the deep blue sea.
Numerous organised hiking trails inspire visitors to explore, while in between they can choose among the destination’s magnificent sandy beaches for an exotic swim. The island of sailors and captains also has much to offer in terms of gastronomy.”
It is noted that an extensive briefing on the potential of the destination by the Municipality of Andros was previously published in the popular German medium. “Our aim is to showcase Andros as a green oasis of authenticity just two hours from Rafina that offers many different experiences, of excellent quality but not overpriced.
In collaboration with local stakeholders and professionals on the island we have launched a call for a holiday that is not limited to July or August,” said Nikos Moustakas, the designated Councillor for Tourism of the Municipality of Andros.
In this spirit, the destination’s performance outside the summer season is interesting. The three-day Easter Monday weekend “closed” with a 40% increase in arrivals, while the Easter weekend flow was also boosted by 22.8% compared to last year.
