Turkey: The presence of the frigate “Themistocles” in the Bosphorus “stirred” the Turks on social media

“The Greek captain found an opportunity for propaganda, putting Greek flags all over the ship” wrote the “father” of the “Blue Homeland” doctrine

The presence of the navy frigate “Themistocles” at the port of Saraiburnou in Istanbul and the display of the Greek flag in the Bosphorus has prompted a variety of comments from Turks on social media.

The frigate “Themistocles” has been in the Turkish port since yesterday, along with the Turkish “Yavuz” and the French oil tanker “Somme” as part of the NATO Permanent Naval Task Force SNMGII, while the Turks “showed their hospitality and gave the Greek ship the side of the dock to dock”.

However, as Jem Gourdeniz, the “father” of the “Blue Homeland” doctrine, wrote on social media, the Greek captain took the opportunity for propaganda, as he “hung Greek flags all over the ship, ignoring maritime customs, according to which the national flag is flown only at the stern.”
