Aircraft crash in Sparta (watch video)

Did the parachute caused the plane crash in Sparta? – The aircraft pinned to the ground outside the “closed” airport of Sparta dragging to death the two operators

Pinned to the ground next to the  airport of Sparta was found the small plane that crashed Saturday morning resulting in the death of the two pilots aboard the single-engine.

As the person responsible of the small airport in Sparta and sources of the civil Aviain reported to protothema.gr, the parachute of the small aircraft was found open, which indicates the possibility that the fall was due to wrong handling.

According to information from the CAA the accident was in the process of grounding. Early indications show that the parachute opened – possibly from improper handling – which made the rise of the aircraft impossible resulting to the crash.

Mr. Antonis  Fellouris, pilot and responsible for the municipal airport in Sparta regarding to the circumstances of the accident said to protothema.gr that there are indications that the ultra-lightweight carbon fiber had landed and fallen during the takeoff : “It was 30-40 feet and when tried to turn left, probably directed to Kalamata. But why the parachute that is available for an emergency opened remains unknown.

According to Mr. Fellouri “the airport is closed and prohibited for any landing or takeoff, while we are waiting for permission from the Civil Aviation Authority for restarting, “he added to  protothema.gr.

“The parachute was open,” said an official of the CAA in protothema.gr confirming the testimony of the head of the municipal airport Sparta Mr. Anthony Fellouri.
