Undisputed Lord of the Rings! Petrounias makes history with 6th straight gold medal in Euro Championships

The Greek gymnast equalled the 6-time straight wins of the Hungarian pommel horse Berki

Lefteris Petrounias made history in Munich at the European Gymnastics Championships winning his 6th gold medal in a row.

The top Greek gymnast won the gold medal in the rings which is his 6th in the event and thus became the athlete with the most in the history of the sport.

Petrounias who did his routine 5th in the Munich final was rated with 15.133 and surpassed Turk Asil who had 15.033.

The Greek equaled Hungarian pommel horse expert Krisztian Berki, who alone holds the all-time record with six titles in the same discipline (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012).

Lefteris Petrounias started with gold in Montpellier in 2015, followed by golds in Bern (2016), Cluj (2017), Glasgow (2018), Basel (2021), and Munich (2022).

The silver medal was won by Adem Asil from Turkey with 15,033 points and the bronze by Courtney Tulloch from Great Britain with 14,866.
