Venizelos tries to keep Papandreou in PASOK

By proposing he be added to the ballot of any region or territory

PASOK considers any break within the faction as an insult to the memory of Andreas Papandreou, after the founder’s son, George, attempted to do thus. In an informal comment, the press office of PASOK launches a fierce attack on Mr. Papandreou, on the occasion of persistent rumors that he will be forming his own party. The press office states that this is an inconceivable move by the former PM which undermines the movement’s unity, since he was honored by PASOK, and especially since he was the one who put the country in the maze of the Memoranda and pioneered the establishment of government coalitions.

The press office even mentions a series of actions that Mr. Venizelos will take in order to maintain unity. Among others, a proposed tactic would be to place Mr. Papandreou as parliamentary candidate on the ballot of any territory or region he may want. The call for cooperation is yet again, reiterated.
