Watch a Superpuma rescue newborn twins, other migrants in Aegean (video)

The helicopter transported them safely to the island of Samos at around 05.00 on Saturday morning.

During a difficult operation by the Greek Coast Guard to rescue undocumented migrants in the Aegean, northeast of the island of Agathonissi, an unexpected thing happened.

One of the passengers aboard the vessel that was spotted by the authorities, a pregnant woman from Cameroon who was trying to make it to Greece, together with her husband in search of a better life, went into labor.

The coast-guard immediately called for an Air Force Superpuma search-and-rescue helicopter to pick up the parents, their two newborn twin boys and three other women.

The helicopter transported them safely to the island of Samos at around 05.00 on Saturday morning.
