Weather: Weekend with 30s and a new rise in temperatures from Monday – See where the African dust will “hit”

Hot will be the weather at the weekend with the temperature to be maintained at high – for the season – levels while from the beginning of next week – according to estimates from Tuesday – south winds, African dust and rains are expected.

As for the African dust, the meteorologists point out that it will be transported to the west and south from Monday and especially Tuesday-Wednesday, when southerly winds will prevail.

Chatraphyllis said “Very hot next weekend”, and in a post, George Tsatrafillas said:

“Very hot is expected next weekend for our country with the temperature reaching even 9 degrees above normal for the season. In fact, the “anomaly” of the temperature will be impressive (even 15 degrees above normal levels) in central European countries such as France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Austria.

Kolydas said that the hot weather last until Monday.

“THE DETAILED FORECAST OF PRECIPITATION AND DUST FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

The weather will be hot on Sunday and Monday with the mercury locally at 30 degrees Celsius.

From Monday local rain mainly in the northwest, while on Tuesday thunderstorms will occur on the mainland and possibly on the eastern Aegean islands.

The transfer of African dust to the west and south is favoured from Monday and mainly Tuesday-Wednesday where south winds will prevail.”

Marousakis: “African dust is coming”

“Strong northerly winds in the Aegean today, similar picture tomorrow with limitation of these through Sunday to pave the way for African dust to visit us again with large amounts early in the new week.

According to meteo.gr, initially a few local clouds are expected, which will increase in the mainland from midday. Local showers and possibly sporadic thunderstorms will occur at noon and in the afternoon in the northern mainland. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be relatively high, mainly in the south and east.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from 10 to 24 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia, Thrace and Thessaly from 13 to 30, in Epirus from 12 to 28, in Sterea and Peloponnese from 12 to 30, in the Ionian islands from 13 to 29, in the North and East Aegean islands from 12 to 29, in the Cyclades from 15 to 24, in the Dodecanese from 16 to 24 and in Crete from 11 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the Aegean will blow from northern directions from 4 to 6 Beaufort and in the afternoon in the Central and Southern Aegean from 5 to 7 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea the winds will blow from the northwest at 3 to 5 Beaufort.

In Attica sunshine is expected. Winds will blow from the north 2 to 4 Beaufort and from the morning to the afternoon 3 to 5 Beaufort.

At noon in the south the winds will reach locally up to 6 Beaufort.

Dust concentrations in the atmosphere will be relatively high. The temperature in the centre of Athens will range from 18 to 27 degrees Celsius.
