Windowless jet offers passengers spectacular panoramic views

Rather than being restricted to a small window, the passengers enjoy a spectacular panoramic view.

A global design company has come up with an intriguing and innovative concept for a windowless jet that uses external cameras to capture a real-time, 360-degree panoramic view of the space around the plane.

The footage is displayed on inside surfaces throughout the cabin. The experience for the passengers is unique: rather than being restricted to a small window, they enjoy a spectacular panoramic view.

Of course, when the screens aren’t displaying the real-time footage, they can be used for in-flight video conferencing or to display other images, such as landscapes and photos of outer space.

The concept has been applauded by the travel industry and earned the team an award at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards in the exterior design category.

“The ethos of the project is simple, to challenge current thinking, and propose something a little different, but not just a fantasy,” Technicon’s Design Director Gareth Davies said in a news-release. “It has to be credible and relevant, yet provoke discussion.”
