“FYROM soldiers were pushing us to get in a hole and go back to Greece!” (vid)

"There was a small hole in the fence and they were pushing everyone in that hole so as to get out at Greek territory" a Syrian refugee said

Newsroom March 15 05:35

A Syrian refugee, who tried to cross Greek-FYROM border along with other refugees and immigrants, accuses FYROM soldiers of cruel and inhuman treatment.

As the man claims, after crossing the river close to Idomeni, he reached FYROM and saw the soldiers.

“They gathered us and asked us to sit on the ground. We stayed there all night, sitting there along with the children and women. It was inhuman. The soldiers were beating anyone who tried to move,” the man said.

At 2am, the soldiers put the refugees in a military van and took them to the border. “There was a small hole in the fence and they were pushing everyone in that hole so as to get out at Greek territory. They were shouting, they were saying words that we did not understand. They were beating us and pushing us outside FYROM through this hole,” the Syrian refugee said.

Then the people had to walk 5-6 kilometers in the night. “It was terrifying. Over 1,500 people returned. No one finally crossed the border, we all returned to Greece,” he said.
