Potami leader: Next president doesn’t necessarily have to be a politician

Theodorakis underlined the need for Greece to maintain its portfolio in the European Commission

Newsroom February 16 02:37

Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis revealed on Monday his party’s stance on the issue of the President of the Republic, suggesting that the candidate for this position doesn’t necessarily have to be a politician.

In an interview with ANT1 TV, Theodorakis underlined the need for Greece to maintain its portfolio in the European Commission , which is linked with Dimitris Avramopoulos, reportedly the most likely candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.

The leader of centrist To Potami party also said that the Greek government has to proceed with an honest compromise, as the country needs to secure the necessary funds.
