The detainees members of Golden Dawn, Giorgos Germenis and Stathis Boukouras, will be transferred to the Parliament to participate in the discussions and vote on whether their immunity should be lifted for prosecution.

For the first time in the political history of Greece, detainees active MPs will be transferred in handcuffs to the Parliament to participate in the parliamentary process.

It is expected that the memebers of Golden Dawn will take advantage of this in order to argue that the persecution against them has political reasons.

Mr. Dimitris Koukoutsis has already made statements on the process by saying that “We will live the ultimate humiliation of the government and Hellenic Republic. Our fellow fighter Giorgos Germenis will come and what concerns the government and the Parliament is whether he will come in handcuffs or not. We say to keep the handcuffs during the plenary session, too. 10 million citizens are in captivity anyway. It doesn’t matter if we add one or two more.”.

However, Hellinic Police in collaboration with the security guard of the Parliament has prepared a special plan for the transfer of the detainees from prison to the Parliament as well as for their stay at the Parliament.

The plenary session is scheduled to start at around noon and the detainees active MP will probably ask to speak.
