Drag queen Conchita Wurst took Europe by storm with her unusual looks in the final of Eurovision and managed to gather 290 points, winning the first place.
Thomas Neuwirth a.k.a. Conchita Wurst will leave Denmark, carrying in his (or her) suitcase the opportunity to organize next year’s music contest.
The “bearded lady ” stole the limelight with her excellent stage presence and vocal abilities, whipping the audience into a frenzy and winning the 59th Eurovision contest!
Austria hadn’t win in Eurovision contest since 1966, while in the last two years the country didn’t even make it to the final.
“This evening is dedicated to those who believe in freedom. You know who you are . We are united!” said the singer in her first statement after winning.
Netherlands won the second place with 238 points, followed by Sweden in the third place with 218 points.
The Greek team only got 45 points from 10 countries, finishing in the 20th place .

The 59th Eurovision contest started at exactly 22:00 in Copenhagen, and more specifically on the stage of B&W Hallerne Arena.
The Greek commentators of the evening, Yorgos Kapoutzidis and Maria Kosakou were already in their places.
The goal of the Greek team, comprising of Freaky Fortune and Risky Kidd was to make the whole of Europe to rise up, sing and dance to their song.
Overall, the representatives of 26 countries competed in the final of the 59th Eurovision contest.
Presenters Lise Rønne, Nikolaj Koppel and Pilou Asbæk gave the signal to start!
The night begun with the song of Ukraine!
It was followed by the sweet song of Belarus, talking about a… cheesecake!
Azerbaijan was third in the line-up, with singer Dilara Kazimova. She sang an English song entitled “Start a fire”
The next performance came from the north, namely Iceland with Pollaponk and “No prejudice”
Norway followed with the “Quiet storm”, a song written by the cousin of singer who wanted his voice to be heard throughout Europe.
Next was Romania with two singers who had participated again in Eurovision in 2010.
Armenia was 7th in the line-up with Aram MP3 and the song “You ‘re not alone”.
Next was a song from Balkans, more specifically Montenegro, with Sergej Cetkovic singing the Moj Svijet. The country made it for the first time in the final of the music contest.
The ballad was followed by the rhythmic and… exuberant song of Poland with the singers who sent the male crowd in the audience into frenzy!
The warmest applause of the audience was saved however for the Greek team that managed to make the whole of Europe… Rise Up and dance!
The Greek performers were succeeded on stage by Conchita, the “bearded drag queen” from Austria who stole the limelight with her exuberant presence and impressive fiery phoenix!
Next was Germany, one of the Big 5 countries.
Germany was followed by Sweden with the song Undo, one of the favorites of the evening
Next was another Big Five country, France, with Twin Twin singing a song entitled “Moustache”!
Tolmachevy Sisters, the 17 year old twin sisters from Russia, performed on stage a song by Dimitris Kontopoulos. Unfortunately, they were booed once again by the audience, because of the events between Russia – Ukraine.
Italy was next to perform on stage
It’s neighboring country, Slovenia followed
Finland was 18th in the line-up, completing the Scandinavian bloc
Ruth from Spain was next, with the song “Dancing in the rain”
Sebalter for Switzerland sang “Hunder of stars”
Hungary came on stage “Running”… with Andras Kallay
Malta followed, with Firelight band singing “Coming Home”.
“Cliche Love Song” by Basim and Denmark
Shortly before the end, the Netherlands came on stage with the street song “Calm After the Storm”
San Marino made it for the first time in the final of Eurovision with Valentina Monetta
The last team to perform was the one from UK with the song “Children of the Universe”
Immediately after the hosts announced that the voting window would be open for the next 15 minutes.
Note that the final result is determined by way of a 50/50 split between national expert juries and televoting!
Greece was voted by the following countries:

Albania – 2 points
Russia – 4 points
Malta – 1 point
England – 2 points
Armenia – 7 points
Belarus – 6 points
Israel – 2 points
Italy – 3 points
Georgia – 4 points
Greece gave:
1 point to Poland, 2 to Sweden, 3 to Norway , 4 to Switzerland, 5 to Ukraine, 6 to Hungary, 7 to Armenia, 8 to Holland, 10 to Russia and 12 to Austria and the “bearded lady!”
