The Prime Minister will be speaking in Syntagma square on Friday evening, thus putting the final note in New Democracy’s election campaign prior to European and regional/municipal elections.
The gathering will take place at 7pm, with a stage being erected in front of the Metro station’s entrance.
The objective and strategic choice of the government staff is to create a major gathering in the large square, in order to spread the feeling of superiority towards SYRIZA, 48 hours prior to the opening of the polls.
Mr. Samaras described his “vision of National Development” yesterday, talking about a seven year period, during which the country will return to the pre-crisis levels with GDP growth, creating 770000 jobs and spreading prosperity to Greek citizens.
Meanwhile, Mr. Samaras attacked the opposition and put forth the real dilemma of the upcoming elections: stability and growth, or a return to the crisis and its misadventures.
“Greece will recover the prosperity it had before the crisis, by 2020”, stated the PM and added that “from now on, day after day, month after month, the situation for ordinary people will improve, many more will be able to find jobs, businesses will have the funding they require, without memoranda or flat austerity measures across the board. We were asked, but we do not need it. Tax measures will decrease. Growth starts now. In 2015 it will reach 2.9% and in 2016, it will reach 3.7%”.
The Prime Minister referred to the estimates of international organizations and independent analyses.
He reported on the growth potential for the next seven years, in tourism, the primary sector, in energy, research and technology, which -combined- will be able to bring 770000 new employment positions and raise the GDP to over 230 billion, which was the highest prior to the crisis.
