Hip-hop … leaves the streets , and moves to the scene of Athens Concert Hall. Sebastien Lefrancois uses the urban hip-hop dance to narrate the most famous love story of all time, that of Romeo and Juliet.

“I tried to find a new way, my way, to express the story” Sebastien Lefransoua said. “I watched all famous versions presented over the years. I was inspired by these versions and I created a kind of puzzle, I added my own perspective, a more recent look: clashes between gangs of juveniles, the doomed love which is not approved by the parents, stabbings in the middle of the night, all these is a reality in today’s neglected suburbs and these are of our concern,”.

With 7 hip-hop dancers, 1 circus performer and 1 actor, Lefransoua gives a new leash of life to Shakespeare’s story, a performance which combines smoothly the simplicity and energy of hip – hop, the electronic music by Vincent Artaud and the music of Laurent Couson.
