Greece is doing well, but early elections would be dangerous for the country, stated Jean-Claude Juncker, the most likely of the candidates for the position of President of the EC, during an interview with Bloomberg.
As the former Eurogroup president stated, Greece is “doing well”, since it presented a primary surplus and is showing signs of economic recovery, even if it is “mild”.
Mr. Juncker stated that Greece must avoid premature elections, however. “The last thing Greece needs is a governmental crisis or collapse. This would be very dangerous”, he stated.
He also estimated that low inflation in the Eurozone is a serious issue, even though he does not “foresee” a risk of deflation.
