A woman who went missing in California 10 years ago (when she was 15 years old) managed to escape from the man who held her captive and contact the police.

According to reports, 41-year-old Isidro Garcia has been arrested and charged with kidnap for rape, lewd act with a minor and false imprisonment.

According to police, the young woman had a relationship with Garcia in 2004, when she was 15 years old. The 41 year old man allegedly kept his former girlfriend locked in a garage all these years.

Garcia repeatedly told the victim her family had given up looking for her, and if she tried to go back to them, the family would be deported.

In 2007, he forced the young woman into a marriage, using documents he obtained in Mexico, and in 2012 the two had a child.

Police described a decade during which the victim was abused mentally, physically and sexually by her captor.
