Until recently, the role of the consultant in matters of the heart or in matters of the bed was reserved in Greece for friends – or for psychologists, in the most extreme cases.

Sex education seminars and experts of erotic relations were something we only saw in American movies, especially comedies. But things have started to change in this country.

Despite the severe economic crisis in Greece during the last few years, several relationship academies and sex education seminars have sprung up around the country, drawing large crowds of people who are interested to enhance their knowledge about the art of loving.

A typical example is the first Sex Education seminar, to be held on December 19 in Athens, in the context of Erotic Art Festival 2014. Famous American sex therapist Ruth Westheimer, best known as “Doctor Ruth,” will attend the event, organized by sex editor Irini Chirdari.

Irini Chirdari is a member of the Relationship Academy, launched in June 2014. The first seminar organized by the academy received 80 applications for participation in a single day, proving that the interest for sex and relationship education is very high in Greece.

70% of participants in the seminars organized by the academy are women between the ages of 30 and 50, with high education. Surprisingly enough, the men who attend these events actively participate with questions, especially with regard to sexual matters.

Athens first Sex World Convention Tour/Erotic Art festival takes place from December 19-22 at the Tae Kwon Do stadium at Faliro. The event offers guests the opportunity to learn everything and anything about sex. The four-day event features a variety of happenings to showcase the role of sex for mankind and human development.

Over 150 exhibitors come together for the single purpose of lifting visitors’ erotic vibes. The event has a number of interactive displays and even goes as far as to promise to give visitors the opportunity to live their sexiest fantasies and broaden your horizons.
