Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis told Agora newspaper on Saturday that the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) government will either be one of “huge rifts and progressive reversals or it will not have a future.”

The minister said the government will keep its pledges because not doing so would be a “Waterloo” for the government and the country. He said the “Institutions” that the government is negotiating with as well as the “German establishment” have a dogmatic prejudice when it comes to dealing with SYRIZA and are treating the country as a “half-colony.”

“Institutions” has replaced the previous EC-ECB-IMF “troika”.

“They are not interested in the context of our proposals but are bothered to hysteria that these come from a radical left government that want an independent country with a progressive course,” he said, reiterating his claim that there would be no more privatizations.

He said his recent visit to Moscow could open a new “historic  chapter” in the energy sector as well as economic and political relations between Greece and Russia that could be sealed when Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 8 in Moscow.
