Minister of State Nikos Pappas, one of PM Alexis Tsipras’ closest associates, expressed certainty that “all sides will meet their commitments and the European Central Bank (ECB) will restore liquidity of (Greek) financing on time.”
He told the Sunday weekly RealNews that no one wants a Grexit or to provoke a … Grexident.
Pappas also rejected main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras’ calls for a national unity government. He said that the ND wants “a memorandum government and seeks personal vindication through the restoration of the memorandum.”
Asked about the fees requested by the government from media outlets using public broadcasting frequencies, he said “nobody is above the law and of meeting tax obligations.”
