Every so often Greek property is desecrated in Turkey as a result of ethnic and religious hatred. Often-times in the past these actions are spurred by political tension between the two countries. The situation reached a new low on Tuesday night when a man tried to firebomb the Aghia Triada Church (Holy Trinity Church) of Kadikoy, Istanbul, on the city’s Asian side. He claimed that he did this after seeing a dream with Jesus Christ.

The man told police that he threw a firebomb when Jesus Christ prompted him to burn down the church. No word on whether he said if Christ told him the reason.

Locals rushed to put out the fire before the fire brigade arrived.
