Top IMF economist Delia Velculescu is married to a noted oncologist. As one would expect, she and her husband are extremely busy in their careers and as parents. Naturally, their relationship is not as picture-perfect, as it seems to outsiders.
In a bit of scandal-mongering, he Greek financial daily “Agora” claims that Velculescu is romantically attached to her predecessor as chief IMF representative for the Greece issue, Poul Thomsen. Working together closely, with loads of overtime and all those business trips seem to have brought the pair close both on a professional and a personal level.
Rumors abound at the IMF’s corridors but the duo refrains from making public appearances and fight the urge for lingering glances so as to further feed the speculation.
What do you think? Is there truth to the rumor or “preemptive mudslinging” given the very tight bind that official Athens finds itself in?
