Opposition lashes out at government

The debate was focused on the moral issues of the left government and the scandal with the undeclared assets

During yesterday’s debate on the omnibus bill, the opposition unleashed a fierce attack on the government of Alexis Tsipras.

The debate was focused on the moral issues of the left government and the MPs of opposition parties responded to the transparency issues posed by government representatives, especially following the scandal with the undeclared assets of 1mln involving SYRIZA’s minister Giorgos Stathakis.

The new heavy tax measures, the new Code of Ethics of banks which paves the way to auctions in first residence, and the upcoming reductions in pensions were the top themes of opposition parties.

Moreover, opposition parties New Democracy and PASOK had a strong conflict on the issue of FYROM name that came up after the leader of the Golden Dawn revealed a letter sent by Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias on October 12 letter to all parties.

The leader of New Democracy, Evangleos Meimarakis, accused Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of deceiving the Greek people to win the elections and of trying to interfere in the work of Justice in the undeclared assets issue.

Potami leader said that the government paves the way to corruption and called Mr. Tsipras to explain big companies are exempt from paying fees at municipalities.

Dimitris Koutsoubas, general secretary of Communist Party of Greece, said that the governmental claims on corrective actions provide comfort to the sick person.
