Friends and family of great Greek actor Minas Hatzisavvas gathered at the 1st Cemetery of Athens to pay their last respects to a talented man. He expressed the wish for a state funeral, followed by a cremation to take place in Bulgaria due the fact that there are no cremation facilities in Greece.

A note was posted on Facebook on Wednesday by a close friend of the deceased, actor Yorgos Kotanidis calling for the wish of the family and actor to not buy wreaths but to donate money for refugees.

The partner of the deceased Kostas Falelakis refrained from making a public statement, as both men had kept their relationship away from the public  spotlight. Together they had dealt with Hatzisavvas failing health with the worsening of the condition a week before he died when he was rushed to hospital suffering from a stroke.
