Greek customs officers arrested a Russian woman at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” Athens International Airport, who was carrying over 2.2 million Euros and 58.900 US dollars. After searching the woman, who disembarked an Aeroflot plane, at the extra-Schengen arrivals area, it was discovered she had hidden the cash by strapping a portion of it on her body and the rest in a suitcase. The authorities confiscated the money, until investigations are complete to ascertain whether the money is a pro cut of laundering. If the suspect fails to prove the amount is legal the total amount will be seized by the authorities.
