You might have heard that come FIFA World Cup time, women supposedly complain their partners are more interested in watching the matches than having sex. So what is the deal with football and men? Could this ‘urban myth’ actually be true and men really do like football better than sex? Well, according to a study conducted by Loughborough University in England on behalf of car company Nissan, an official UEFA Champions League sponsor, 55 per cent of the male participants in the survey answered the most exciting thing that happens to them during the week on a regular basis was watching a football match. The second most exciting thing for men was related to a passion or a hobby of some sort, and sex came in third! 73 percent said the Champions League final was the most significant sporting event they looked forward to all year. The most popular team unsurprisingly, was Barcelona with 64 per cent of vote, while Real Madrid (60 percent) and Bayer Munich (41 percent) followed.
