The European Council President Donald Tusk stated that “Turkey is completely detached from reality” in calling the Dutch fascists. It is the first official statement on behalf of the EU regarding the Dutch-Turkish crisis so far.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the Dutch government of being “Nazi remnants” and made an insulting remark about the Dutch role in Srebrenica during the Bosnian war.
The Dutch prime minister called the remarks a “vile falsification”.
