Cosby had been found guilty in April on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. Constand has stated that Cosby assaulted her at his Pennsylvania home when she had reached out to him for career advice.

The sentencing comes after Judge Steven O’Neill stated that Cosby would be classified as a “sexually violent predator,” which requires that Cosby register as a sex offender, undergo monthly counselling. Cosby is also required to register with police if he decides to move, so that community members and school administrators can be alerted.
