The Russian forces have taken control of the city of Svitlodarsk, in the Donetsk region, on Tuesday morning.

According to the head of the military administration of the region, Sergei Hosko, the Russian invaders entered the city and raised the Russian flag at the town hall.

According to the same reports, the Ukrainian troops – despite yesterday’s rumours that they would finally manage to push back the advancing Russians – surrendered the city, leaving it.
