German’s largest airline, Lufthansa announced today that 800 flights are being cancelled due to a strike by its pilots.
This decision will affect at least 130 thousand passengers, as reported by the German newspaper “Bild”.
Flights are cancelled at Munich and Frankfurt airports.
The pilots’ union “Vereinigung Cockpit” (VC) announced late last night that on Friday, September 2, 800 flights will not take place as the company’s pilots will go on strike.
The board made the decision after negotiations with the company fell through for a new collective bargaining committee, a union spokesman said.
Some flights will also be cancelled during the day, as announced by German airlines.
It should be recalled that Lufthansa had cancelled thousands of flights during the summer due to the lack of staff at the airports and the airline itself.
