An urban bus driver was shot while the vehicle was in running the 866 route in Aspropyrgos, a suburb of Athens on Sunday night. The terrifying moments unfolded when three people approached him while the vehicle was in motion and one of them shot him, as he told police.
Everything happened at around 20:30 on Sunday night while bus line 866 was on Demokratias Street in Aspropyrgos.
According to reports, the bus driver saw three people approaching the vehicle and one of them fired an air gun toward him, breaking the window. Fortunately, the driver managed to duck and was thus not harmed by either the bullets or the fragments of the broken glass.
Greek police arrested three men arrested a short time after the incident, a 28-year-old, a 27-year-old, and a 16-year-old. The police also found the air gun with which the attack against the bus driver was carried out, a package of metal pellets, and a knife.
