What about the Americans still held by the Taliban, in the face of the news that at least 200 former Afghanistan officials who were “assured that they would be not targeted” are now reported to have been murdered? This is what they endured from the current Taliban regime:
On August 19, 2021, Joe Biden promised: “If there are American citizens left, we’re going to stay until we get them all out.” Yet five months ago, Secretary of State Antony Blinken “admitted 175 Americans are still in Afghanistan, including several who are being held hostage by the Taliban.”
The revelation about the murders of hundreds of Afghan soldiers and the violations of their human rights raises further concerns for the American soldiers who are still being held captive, and whom the Biden administration has abandoned.

To make matters even worse, in April, Foreign Policy reported that “multiple foreign nationals, including Americans and Europeans,” had been detained in Afghanistan “in what appears to be a systematic roundup by the group, which has a history of holding Westerners hostage to trade for political advantage.”
Aside from empty promises from the Biden administration, no one knows what any of these individuals have suffered at the hands of the Taliban, or even whether or not they are still alive.
