The co-training of special operations forces of Greece and the United States, which was held in the wider region of Pieria, under the coordination of the Special Warfare Command (SOC) of the Hellenic National Defence General
Staff (HNDGS) , in the framework of military cooperation between the two countries, was completed today.
On the Greek side, personnel and assets of the HNDGS participated and on the American side, personnel and assets of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit participated.
The co-training – which is a continuation of a similar one held last month – concerned mountain combat and living in snow-covered areas (Cold Weather Training and Tactics) and contributed to increasing combat capability and improving interoperability between the Greek and American participating Armed Forces.
This activity demonstrates in practice the excellent relationship between Greece and the United States at the military level and the long-standing cooperation between the two countries in the field of Special Operations, contributing to the promotion of security and stability in the wider region, the Joint Chiefs of Defence concluded in its statement.
