The beaches with the bluest waters in the world – Five from Greece on the list (photos)

Which one is at the top?

Newsroom April 15 12:09

Whether you’re a swimming enthusiast, you want to enjoy the sun on the beach, or simply capture some vibrant snapshots for Instagram, there’s nothing more beautiful than a coastline bathed in dazzling azure waters.

And now you can find out exactly where the bluest waters in the world are, thanks to a new ranking presented by the luxury villa rental company CV Villas.

To compile the ranking, researchers compiled a long list of the most popular and beautiful beaches in the world.

Then, a color analysis followed, which involved capturing unprocessed images of the beaches from Google Maps, using a tool to determine the exact shade of the water and cross-referencing this shade with the one officially considered the bluest shade of blue.

And surpassing the world-famous azure shores of the Maldives, Bora Bora, Croatia, and Greece, it is proved that Pasqyra, also known as Mirror Beach in northern Epirus, at the southern part Albania, has the bluest waters in the world.

Two Greek beaches rank second and third with the bluest waters in the world: Bouka Beach in the Peloponnese is second, followed by Kassiopi in Corfu.

The country continues to dominate the list, claiming five out of the top ten spots and seven in the top 30.

Europe performed exceptionally well overall. Beaches across the continent claimed all top ten spots and 26 out of the top 30. Destinations in Bulgaria, France, Montenegro, and Scotland also made it into the top 30.

Greek vacation destinations are among the top 30 more than any other country, occupying seven spots on the list. Antisamos Beach in Kefalonia is at the 18th position, and the small but charming Dafnoudi Beach, also in Kefalonia, is at the 23rd position in the global ranking of blue waters.
