Caroline’s Murder: Yesterday little Lydia formally took on her mother’s surname

Little Lydia permanently lives in the Philippines

Newsroom April 17 09:02

Yesterday’s proceedings came to a close after a year. Legal decisions included little Lydia, the daughter of the murdered Caroline Crouch,  taking on her mother’s surname, as reported on gegonota.news by the family’s lawyer, Mr. Thanasis Harmanis.

The child’s surname from Anagnostopoulouwas changed to Crouch. Caroline’s child permanently lives in the Philippines.

The decision to change the child’s surname from that of her biological father’s began in June 2021 when father Babis Anagnostopoulos was arrested at Caroline’s memorial due to evidence indicating that he had murdered her.

Caroline’s parents wished not only for their granddaughter to be raised far from Greece but to also have her surname changed so as not to be in any way associated with her father who was convicted of the crime in Glyka Nera.

Lydia’s father, Babis Anagnostopoulos, strangled his wife Caroline Crouch in front of their daughter, and for six weeks deceived both the police and Caroline’s family, claiming that burglars had broken into the house and killed not only Caroline but also their dog before fleeing.
