The article from the French newspaper Le Figaro refers to a revival of the Grey Wolves’ activity in France, stating that while they were relatively discreet after their prohibition by French authorities in 2020, in recent months they appear to be reactivating, threatening a French female parliamentarian, as well as Armenian, Greek, and Kurdish communities.

Regarding the French parliamentarian Isabelle Surply, she has become their target. According to the article, Mrs. Surply requested the closure of a mosque in the Saint-Étienne area where a member of the Islamic-conservative network of the Millî Görüs Islamic Federation which was affiliated with Erdogan’s party.

It is also reported that the Saint-Étienne area is one of the strongholds of the Grey Wolves in France and recently French authorities have arrested members of the group for supporting terrorism online, amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The article also mentions that the Grey Wolves are ultranationalists, sinister, and Islamists and that under Ankara’s auspices they cultivate explosive ideologies that include hatreds ultranationalism, and relentless Islamism.
