Samothrace: Instant death of the snorkeler who was hit by a boat propeller

The death of the 44-year-old underwater fisherman – who was found yesterday unconscious in the marine area of Kamariotissa Samothrace – was instantaneous as according to the results of the autopsy-necropsy conducted today at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis, he was hit in the head by a boat propeller.

As for the boat that lured the amateur fisherman, according to the Coast Guard, it is a speedboat which was located and driven to the port of Samothrace accompanied by the Coast Guard, while the two foreign passengers aged 57 and 56 years old were arrested on charges of manslaughter by negligence (violation of paragraph 1 of Article 302 of the PC).

Preliminary investigation is carried out by the A’ Coast Guard Department of Samothrace of the Central Port Authority of Alexandroupolis.
