A man was fined €3,000 by the fire brigade for throwing fireworks on the beach of Agios Nikolaos in Artemis, adjacent to a forested area.

It is important to recall that penalties for arson involving fireworks can include one year in prison and a fine for major destruction, or at least five years of imprisonment and a fine for severe cases. These penalties are neither suspensive nor convertible into monetary fines.
