Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci arrived in Venice for the opening of the annual Venice Film Festival.

The festival kicks off with the premiere of Burton’s latest work, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, on Wednesday, August 28, which is a sequel to his 1988 film.

The 66-year-old director and the Italian actress were photographed holding hands as they arrived in the Italian city.

Bellucci wore a white suit with a blazer and pants, paired with a black shirt underneath. She completed her look with large black sunglasses and a white leather handbag. Burton, on the other hand, chose a black suit, shirt, and hat. He finished off his stylish appearance with blue-lensed sunglasses and black suede sneakers.

The 59-year-old actress stars in the film alongside Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, and Winona Ryder. The plot is as follows: “After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to their home in Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her teenage daughter, Astrid, accidentally opens the gateway to the afterlife.”

The Venice Film Festival runs from August 28 to September 7.
