Tulsi Gabbard: Trump’s pick to head intelligence had called Erdogan a dictator

The new "boss" of the US intelligence services is certainly a person that Tayyip Erdogan would not want in this position - She has clearly supported the Greek and Cypriot positions in the past

The woman who went from the Democrats and the 2020 presidential race to the Republican camp and became one of Donald Trump‘s most important “weapons” in his campaign will take over the reins of all of the country’s secret agencies starting Jan. 20 and the 47th president’s inauguration.

Gabbard’s selection is “bad news” for Turkey as the new head of US intelligence agencies has little sympathy for Erdogan and his practices. Gabbard has openly called Tayyip Erdogan a “dictator” and has painted Turkey’s practices on all open war fronts in the darkest possible colors.

Gabbard even did not hesitate to publish a video on her personal account regarding her positions and thoughts on the Turkish President four years ago. The new head of the United States’ intelligence agencies has also openly expressed herself about Turkey’s position in NATO, stressing at several – different times – that Ankara’s stance should not be in the North Atlantic alliance.

Gabbard has also made no secret of her sympathy for Greece. In 2017, she was in the country, specifically at refugee and immigrant reception centers, and upon her return to the U.S. she joined the Greek political community in Southern California. She even received the distinction of the “Pericles Award” and Mike Dukakis had described her as a hyper-partisan leader with exceptional skills especially in the field of foreign policy. In her speech at the time, Gabbard had insisted that the Greek-American community should strengthen efforts to promote Greek positions in the U.S.

Tulsi Gabbard is very familiar with the workings of the security forces as she herself rushed to volunteer for the US armed forces shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attack and has long served and distinguished herself in various positions in the military. Dynamic and passionate about politics, she represented Hawaii in the House with the “blue” camp for 6 years before deciding to take the decisive step that puts her in a pivotal position for the interests and especially the security of the US.

The selection of Tulsi Gabbard for the top position in the intelligence field, besides the fact that she brings all 18 US agencies under her control, also sets the tone for foreign policy as the US has been active and moving over time as a superpower in this area as well. Offices of the country’s intelligence services are located in more than 100 countries around the world and Gabbard will have not just high oversight but total control.

Apart from her role as the US Director General of Intelligence, Gabbard is also extremely pivotal to the country’s foreign policy as it is through top secret information that moves and developments on a global level are determined.
